The Lifeguarding Instructor course trains you to teach Lifeguarding, first aid/CPR, and water safety courses. With a simple bridge course, you can also be certified to teach Title 22 First Aid or Waterfront Lifeguarding as well. That is a lot of SPLASH for your CASH!

REQUIREMENTS: Be at least 17 years old; hold a current American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED certificate, be able to swim 300 yards continuously using either front crawl or breaststroke; be able to tread water for 2 minutes using legs only; and be able to retrieve a 10-lb object from 7-10 feet and tow it using legs only for 20 yards in 100 seconds or less. YOU MUST PREREGISTER AND COMPLETE (1) an online orientation to the Red Cross, (2) an online orientation to Lifeguarding Instructor. and (3) Section 1 of the course study guide before the first class meeting (Pre-class work).
Safe Swim (108 Lamplighter, Irvine, CA 92621)
- Dates/Times: Sa Su, Nov 16 and 17, 2013, from 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM each day.
- Cost: $325 (paid to Safe Swim) plus $35 (paid directly to the Red Cross). For Title 22 First Aid, add $60 (paid to Safe Swim).
- Payment Schedule: Reserve your spot with a $125 deposit; pay $35 to the Red Cross; and pay the remainder in cash on the first day of class.
- To Register: You must register with Safe Swim and the Red Cross. Go to Safe Swim to register online and to receive information about Red Cross registration. Advance registration is required so that online pre-class work can be completed BEFORE the first class meeting.
