American Red Cross Answers

The American Red Cross is finalizing one of the biggest reorganizations/shake ups in its history.  Once a collection of nearly 1000 local chapters, each with autonomy inside an assigned jurisdiction, and a distant National Headquarters providing mere policy and program guidance, now the American Red Cross is all National with levels of contact and new divisions and departments.

Confused? Frustrated? Lost? Well, you are not alone. Although this reorganization will prove to be of tremendous value to internal and external customers alike in the long run, right now the bumps on the road and the new costs seem to outweigh and overshadow the benefits.

These pages are my attempt to bring answers to the new questions about how the Red Cross works now, hopefully in a small way to  dispel some of the confusion with clarity and reliable information.
