Lifeguarding Course
This is a blended learning American Red Cross Lifeguarding course. Participants must register with the City of Los Alamitos, get course information, register with the American Red Cross and pay a $35 fee (part of the $230 total) and complete an online course by the first class meeting. Advance registration is required. Participant must supply their own swim suit, towel, and adult/pediatric resuscitation mask. Course textbook can be downloaded from the Red Cross website.
- Date: Monday & Tuesday, March 28 & 29, 2016 (SPRING BREAK).
- Times: 8 AM to 6 PM each day.
- Location: USA National Water Polo Training Center, 11200 Lexington Drive, Los Alamitos, CA 90720.
- Prerequisites: At least 15 year old on March 29; able to swim 300 yards continuously with good breathing; able to tread water legs only for 2 minutes; and able to retrieve a 10-lb weight in 7–10 feet and swim with the weight 20 yards using legs only in 100 seconds or less.

Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Course
This is a blended learning American Red Cross WSI course. Participants must register with the City of Los Alamitos, get course information, register with the American Red Cross and pay a $35 fee (part of the $230 total) and complete an online course by the first class meeting. - Date: Wednesday & Thursday, March 30 & 31, 2016 (SPRING BREAK).
- Times: 8 AM to 8 PM each day.
- Location: USA National Water Polo Training Center, 11200 Lexington Drive, Los Alamitos, CA 90720.
- Prerequisites: At least 16 year old on March 31; able to swim front crawl, back crawl, elementary back, sidestroke, breaststroke, and butterfly to Level 4 proficiency; and able to tread water and back float for 1 minute each.
- Total Fee: $230 ($195 to the City of Los Alamitos and $35 to the Red Cross).
