Lifeguarding Classes

American Red Cross Lifeguarding prepares you for the job of a pool lifeguard and gives you a Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED certificate (valid for 2 years).

REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 15 Lifeguardyears old
  • Able to swim 300 yards continuously using the front crawl or breaststroke
  • Able to tread water 2 minutes using legs only
  • Able to retrieve 10 lbs and swim it legs only 20 yds in 100 seconds.

Safe Swim Lifeguarding

Safe Swim offers 2-day weekend Blended-Learning Lifeguarding courses every month as follows:

  • Sat/Sun, May 17 & 18 at 108 Lamplighter, Irvine, CA 92620 – Google Map
  • Sat/Sun, May 24 & 25 at 108 Lamplighter, Irvine, CA 92620 – Google Map
  • Sat/Sun, May 31 & June 1 at 4691 Meadowood, Irvine, CA 92620 – Google Map

Course Hours: Self-paced, online session and Sat/Sun class session from 8 AM to 6 PM. Each class session is paired with a unique online offering. Make sure you complete the correct online offering and the corresponding class session.

Course Fee: $175 per person plus a Red Cross fee of $28.

Registration: Go to Safe Swim. When you receive the email confirmation, follow the instructions to register with the Red Cross and complete online work. Bring proof of online completion to the first class.
